W is for Washi - Original
“W is for Washi”- part of my drawing series Japan A to Z
8” x 10” (unframed size)
Frame included in price
Paint pens on paper
Washi means “Japanese paper”. I have loved pretty paper since I was little and had an impressive collection of stationery due to my love of all things paper. When we lived in Tokyo, there were a few stores I visited with walls of stunning wash - all kinds of patterns and colors. My favorites were often chiyogami - a few of those patterns are depicted in this drawing.
I loved living in Japan and having the chance to explore this part of my heritage. This series is a collection of icons, inventions, and memories experienced in this amazing country.
