Letterpress Card - Origami Crane
In Japan, the origami crane symbolizes hope and peace. It was believed that a person who folded 1000 cranes would be granted a wish.
There was a little girl named Sadako Sasaki who developed leukemia due to the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima during World War 2. She learned about the 1000 crane wish and started folding cranes in the hospital. She died at the young age of 12. Her memory and wish for peace lives on at the Hiroshima Memorial Peace Park.
