Inktober 2022 - Gargoyle - Day 1
Inktober Day 1 - “Gargoyle”
When we lived in Okinawa , there were pairs of these little lion dogs on top of houses all over the island. They are called shisa dogs - the closed mouth one is thought to invite in good spirits in while the open mouth one scares evil spirits away. They reminded me of a Japanese version of today’s prompt.
This is an original pen and ink drawing - part of my collection of work based on a list of prompts for Inktober 2022. Inktober is a free international drawing challenge created by Jake Parker. For each day in October, artists interpret a prompt in their own unique way.
